Many of you can remember watching Gregory Peck stand up though the roof to open the door for Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Some of these cars can still be seen driving the streets of Rome. This car is the Fiat 500 and was probably one of the first subcompacts ever produced.
I am reasonably sure the car in the film is the previous-generation Fiat Topolino. The car shown here did not reach the market until 1957.
